Insiculous Asteroids

playable

Meatieroids — Deion flies the Flying Funk through a belt of roided-out meatballs that flex, tumble, and burst into smaller, angrier ones.

Checking WebGPU…

Insiculous Asteroids runs on an HTML canvas and needs a keyboard or gamepad. The controls are listed below the game.

Click the game to give it keyboard focus. Menus: W/S or arrows to navigate, Space/Enter to confirm, Esc to go back — a gamepad works too. All keys are remappable in the game.

Deion pilots the Flying Funk — a gravy boat seen from above — through a belt of meatieroids: roided-out meatballs that tumble, bounce off each other, and flex at you. Fire icicles to bust them. A large one bursts into two medium ones, a medium into two small, and the children come out flexing, fanned out and faster than their parent. The small ones are the hardest to hit, so they pay the most.

Thrust, turn, and drift: the Funk turns smoothly, and its thrust and its shots follow the heading drawn. A lost ship plays the Funk’s crash, and the respawn blinks invincible for a moment. Extra ships arrive every 10,000 points, and the run only ends when the ships do.

Co-op shares one belt: Cubert flies a second Funk firing ice chips, with his own lives and score. In Ridiculous and Insiculous a large meatieroid bursts into three. Eleven achievements, chaos modes included.

Built on Insiculous 2D. Playable right here in the browser (WebGPU — Chrome/Edge, or Firefox with dom.webgpu.enabled); desktop builds (Vulkan / Metal / DX12) run the same code natively.
